Nuff Said

(Snapped on 5/15/11)

Although I did take a ton of self-snaps, this afternoon (truly the one bright spot in my whole entire day) - this pic. will have to tide you over...until I can sort out the thoughts to go along with the new ones...

Uh huh. It's been that kind of week.

  1. This is gorgeous. The sense of smallness and isolation and vulnerability is very striking. Although now I am worried about you.

  2. @nathanballingrud - Thank you, Nate...and please don't worry about me. I dunno...at the risk of sounding completely corny, I guess it's sorta like this - When I staged this shoot, I was fully aware that a REAL storm was brewin'...little did I know though, but just a few hours later? A DIFFerent kinda storm would blow in outta nowhere...

It's sunny atm, however...but I've no way of knowing how things will turn out.

  3. Have you considered cropping this to get rid of the sky (and maybe even the trees)?

When I scroll down the page until it's just you and the color green ... I like it better.

  4. @Mr. Topp - Really? Hmmmm...I dunno - I guess maybe I thought that by leaving the background so expansive, it would exaggerate how tiny I was feeling at the time...but I can try it.

Thank you for the suggestion :)

  5. I'm all for tight cropping but this shot, as it is, does express the smallness of the figure in the landscape. I like it as it is. Cropping would change the whole feeling.
