@Steve - Nice to have you back! I think lots of times I overlook the "good" qualities of my pics. (Thank You btw - for pointing them out!) and instead worry that I overuse key elements too often, that I let myself fall into this sort of "samey, samey" trap (hence the title, "Pigeonholed"). Maybe I need to try and always remember that no two pics. are ever exactly alike, even if they do happen to possess similar characteristics.
Thanks! And here's another thing as well... people who become great do so by doing similar things again and again. Kinda like nibbling around the edges of an idea you don't quite understand yet, but certain that if you keep at it long enough, you'll get really good at it. Einstein said "I'm not that much smarter than anyone else; I just stick with a problem longer." So don't worry that you've done similar shots before... keep nibbling...
Wow... hadn't checked in on you in awhile... awesome shot!!! Loving the soft/hard and smooth/rough contrasts you have going on here... excellent work!
