It's kind of odd to me that the last few shoots that I staged, turned out to be so heavily dog-laden...especially considering the fact that it was not a conscious decision on my part...but rather a case of pure, blind, dumb luck. And what's even stranger about it is - that my own little pooch became the primary focus of my life the other day - when she ruptured her cruciate ligament while chasing a bloody squirrel across the yard.
Hours of surgery, and $3500 later (ouch), she is now back home, and resting as comfortably as I guess could be expected - following such an invasive, and elaborate surgical procedure.
I suspect that this unexpected mishap will definitely impact my level of artistic productivity, unfortunately - as the poor, pathetic pup needs near constant supervision (she refuses to go in her crate, so she's loose in the house, which makes me far too nervous to feel even remotely comfortable leaving her alone for very long). Not sure how long it'll be before am no longer home bound, but in the meantime - I reckon I'll just havta try and find contentment with staging self-portraits here at home...boooooring...
Hi Lauralyn,
ReplyDeleteI sometimes forget how spectacularly beautiful springtime in the Shenandoah Valley is. A beautiful photo.
Hope your pup mends quickly as well as your pocketbook.
Best,

@scott Kelly - Virginia to me, is one of the most beautiful places in the world...and you're exactly right - springtime here is practically unsurpassable...
DeleteThe dog is doing better, Thank You! My pocketbook on the other hand, is gonna take a while longer to heal...yikes.
This is a very busy picture (ironic) since both you and the dogs are laying down in front of a beautiful tree with a nice and calm scenery on the background. I see a strong and majestic tree providing shade and comfort to a lovely maiden and her loyal guards. My eyes are forced to explore all parts of the photo including the background....I love it!!

@AMC - I totally hear Ya'! It's probably a good thing that the dogs and I are keeping so still...otherwise the pic. might've been WAY too chaotic!
DeleteAn idyllic scene. All the models must have been.....................dog tired!
ReplyDeleteSorry. I just couldn't pass that one up. Great picture!
@Raymond - Hahahaha! By the end of the 2 hours that I spent shooting at this farm, I actually WAS dog tired!
Deletetwo shots in a row where your body is open to the camera and you are facing the camera. are you opening up along with spring?
ReplyDelete@Ted - Good lord...I hadn't noticed that myself, Ted...definitely wasn't a conscious decision on my part - to venture into uncharted territory like that!
