I've said this before, but it definitely bears repeating...I haven't got many friends, but the few that I do have - truly are the world's absolute best!
I spent all of yesterday with a particularly good buddy of mine, driving to various destinations that he'd bookmarked in his mind, as being possible venues at which I could shoot...and although I focused primarily on completing my darkroom photography class assignments, I did still carve out a little time to devote to taking a few new self-portraits...
It was a positively fantastic day, and I owe a huge "THANK YOU!" to my good buddy for leading me to such remarkably photo-worthy locations, and "THANKS!" also to his girlfriend - for allowing me to stage the above shots at her place!!! I gotta tell ya', it's the greatest thing ever to feel as happy as I do :D
Lauralyn these shots are amazing! You are very lucky to have friends with such great locations!
ReplyDelete@Lori Hubby - Aw, THANKS Lori! And Yes, I feel so incredibly fortunate to have the amazing friends that I have!
DeleteLove the first shot. Best looking deer I have seen. Great view too.
ReplyDelete@Raymond - Haha! THANKS Raymond! I must admit though, my looks can't hold a candle to that phenomenal view…it's soooooooo gorgeous!
DeleteThe first shot of these two might be one of my favorite of yours, yet! Great photographic mind on you, LL!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous - Wow! Are you serious? That's really nice to hear actually, cuz I'm still not quite sure how I myself feel about that first pic….Thank You for letting me know!
DeleteOh yes, I'm serious. When you first see the pic your eye goes directly to clarity and beauty of the scenery outside. But as you continue to absorb the entire photo... you see the silhouette of a figure with horns. But as your gaze focuses more, it's almost a reverse depth of field in regards to focus... the image closest (you) has less clarity than the scenery outside. Case in point... see photo #2 the foreground (you) hold the clarity of focus and the the clarity dissipates into the background scenery outside.
Deletedid you use the rear synch setting to achieve this?
@Anonymous - No, I didn't adjust the settings on my camera at all…matter of fact, I almost never do when I'm using my Cybershot…on my 35mm film cameras however - I make adjustments for practically every frame that I shoot. The fact that you took the time to analyze these two pics., and then shared your discoveries with me, makes me very happy - THANK You!
DeleteI like your
Beautiful! And I love the fall colors, and your shadow against them as a backdrop is stunning.
