Storm's A'Brewin'

  1. Foreground, Background, and Subject, all as close to flawless as you could have gotten, melding together to be one of your best, and the newest addition to my favorite selections of your work. I couldn't have asked for a nicer birthday present, even if it had been intended. Thank you for this, and all the other very artistic, and amazingly creative work, that you have shared with us!

    1. @Anonymous - Oh my GOSH, NO! Thank YOU!!! I was afraid that this pic. was too "been there, done that"...not to mention - underexposed, plus it bothered me that in each frame from this group, my body and head always seemed to be competing with the tree limbs just behind me...no matter where I placed myself or the camera...ugh.

I'm deLIGHTed to know that you're ok with it, though! And so happy that I posted it just in time for your Birthday - HAPPY DAY!

    1. @AMC - THANK You! Was such a gorgeous setting (it's on the Va./WVa. line on the Appalachian Trail)...plus this wicked storm rolled in while I was shooting - it was crazy!!!

  3. Hi Lauralyn,

I feel myself drawn in to a spell. The chaotic elements emanating from your soul. You are like a force of nature here. Dark and wondrous!

  4. Hi Lauralyn,

I grew up in Georgia and North Carolina and spent lots of time up your way. I remember one autumn in my college years "picnicking" with a girlfriend by a stream just outside Staunton. One of the most beautiful afternoons ever! We southern souls have to support each other. You're doing amazing photography.

    1. @scott - Geographically speaking, this area is practically unsurpassed (in my opinion) - and I love that part of living here. The social end of life in this region however, can be a bit trying at times (to put it mildly)...my chosen lifestyle is not exactly looked upon favorably by many around here, as I'm sure you can imagine - haha! But that only makes forging new alliances with folks like you, all the more valuable :) Thanks for your continued support of me and my art!

  5. Hi Lauralyn,

My pleasure. I used to be a commercial photographer with a fine art background. I love what you're doing. FYI, I left the south almost a quarter century ago and rarely venture back. I was visiting my eldest daughter in Asheville this past summer and was swept away with the beauty of the mountains.
