Like A Deer Caught In The Headlights

Today in court I received a 6 month sentence for two counts of trespassing, all of which was suspended except for two days that I havta spend in jail - next weekend...that is of course - unless I screw up again over the course of the next 6 months (not only in Virginia, but in any other state as well). If that happens, then I must reappear before the judge who warned me today - that under those particular circumstances, I will most likely be required to serve out the rest of my sentence.

  1. I suppose it could have been worse, but wow, sorry that happened.

    1. @Josh - I've never been very good at dealing with change, and yet still somehow I've managed to become quite the expert at making enemies...go figure. Anyhoo, Thanks for thinkin' of me, Josh...I really appreciate it!

  6. and i'm also wondering if it's the same judge i used to babysit for- who used to come home soooo drunk he couldn't even make it up the stairs...would pass out in a chair in the living room.....

    1. @laughingpaintbrush - I can say with absolute certainty - that it was not. Clarke County brought in a special prosecutor from out of town, to handle the case - and he genuinely seemed to be a very respectable man.

    1. @Molly - Thanks so much, Molly...I shall definitely stay deeply immersed in self-portraiture. Some days it feels like it's the only thing that keeps me from completely dissolving into a puddle of nothingness...

  8. Been away from the blogs for a couple days and just now catching up. Obviously, I don't know all of the details of your case, but I have mixed feelings about this whole thing. On one hand, you admit that you broke the law and I firmly believe that none of us are above the law so...gotta pay the price, I guess. On the other hand, sending someone like you to jail for something like this (even for a couple days) seems fairly ridiculous. I mean, it's not like your presence in this place was harmful or threatening in any way to other people, was it? I guess it's easy to get incensed about stuff like this when we all know of much worse acts that go unpunished. In any case, I'm sorry for your sake that the whole thing happened, but I'm glad your sentence wasn't any worse and I'm happy to still have your blog to ogle ;) Hang in there!

    1. @Adam - Ya' wanna know the biggest bitch of all of this? Like seriously? Discovering that it was a former lover, and "friend" (or so I thought) who blew the whistle on me by showing the pics. to the property owners. When confronted, he refused to accept responsibility at all for any of it, by insisting that I did this to myself (on top of berating and insulting me by literally verbally shredding nearly every facet of my character) Oh, and if you knew the reason for WHY he did it, I can almost assure you that your jaw would hit the floor...Whatever. I'm no stranger to betrayal by people who turned out to be inherently hateful, self-centered, and cowardly. People who I erroneously trusted, and allowed myself to get close to. I think I may actually be the biggest fool on the planet...

I really do appreciate you taking the time to offer your opinions, as well as your support - Thank You!

  11. I am really sorry to hear about this, hon. Glad it's suspended, but how utterly SUCK that you have to spend any time in jail! This really doesn't strike me as something that deserves any jail time at all. *shakes head*

    Thinking of you, hon.

  12. Two days in the slammer can't be worse than all the internet dating you did a couple of years ago and it will give you a theme to photographs and stories to write about later. Good luck:..

    1. @Ted - Haha! Yeah, SO true! Honestly though, I'm not all that worried about the two days in jail...it's having a criminal record, and my fingerprints on file now, along with the 6 months probation - that has me kinda freaked out...

      Thank You!
