Daydreaming

Was too flippin' cold to take pictures outside today (or it could be that I'm just getting too old for this shit - HA!)...sooooo...instead I made due in my cozy, little house.

  1. I don't know how the hell you consistently fo it, but the lighting contrasts that you capture in 10 seconds is outstanding. The play of light and shadow along your jawline and neck is just damned alluring.

    1. @Ted - I usually try to cut my losses by taking tons of pics., sometimes with very little variation between them - hoping that somewhere in the group I might find a winner. Dash photography is largely about trial and error (mostly error, in my case) - so it is especially nice when at least one picture turns out ok. The only thing that really bugs me about this particular photo - is that the scar on my left butt cheek is so visible...bah

  2. I would put some material on the top of the bed yet. To make it more... I don't what more, but :P Just an idea, hope it'll help onetime :)

    1. @nisza_E - I actually did very little to prepare the "set". I hadn't intended to even take this group of pics., but I was doing something upstairs in my house, and walked past my son's room - and when I noticed the scrummy light coming in through that one window - I simply couldn't help myself! The bed was exactly the way that he'd left it, after getting up in the morning...

  3. Excellent shot! Don't know that I've ever seen one where you're not taut and flexed in some way. The softness of relaxed flesh is a great counterpoint to that body of work.

    1. @Steve - THANK You, Steve! And Ya' know? I actually thought about that myself while I was taking these pics.! It's so rare that I just melt into a pose like I did here...and honestly, this was one of the ONLY pics. from this shoot, where I was pretty much totally relaxed. I almost always tense up in some way...it's kinda weird.

    2. Well, please try more shots like this again! This and your recent close-up shots are new genres for you... and they need to be more fully explored, ya know? Real artistry, IMO, is a combination between getting reeeeeallly good at stuff you do a lot and venturing down new rabbit-holes as well. Gotta do both.
